Have you been caught watching the Team GBs Hockey Olympic campaign and fancy picking up your stick again? Have you been inspired by our athletes in Rio to do something different and revisit your sport? Are you looking to get fit or meet a new great bunch of people… (If we do say so ourselves!)

Well one of Hockey returners definitely seems to be inspired following her first few Back2Hockey Sessions and has already confirmed she will be playing for WHC in the new season:

Back2Hockey Quote School

We are now half way through the Back 2 Hockey sessions, and those players that made that decision to blow the dust off of their hockey sticks can’t seem to put their sticks back down! These dedicated sessions to reintroducing players back to our beloved sport have got off to great start, with numerous players reporting that they are loving their time on the pitch and are hungry for more.

Back2Hockey Quote Coaching

The hour long pitch time involves a gentle warm up, followed by several exercises helping players become reacquainted with a hockey stick. These exercises are then slowly built upon by our patient and encouraging coach Marco, reminding our returners of the skills they used to utilise on a weekly basis at school, university or at their old club. To round off the evening’s session the returners are then let loose on the pitch in a quick fun game rekindling that competitive spirit that draws us all to the AstroTurf.

One of returners has already signed up to WHC and played his first friendly match with one of our 6 Men’s teams!

Hockey is a great team sport and an excellent way to keep yourself fit and socialise. Another one of returners had this to say about the Back2Hockey sessions:

Back2Hockey Quote 15 Years
