After six seasons coaching our men’s 1st team Ian Sloan has decided to step down to take on a player/assistant coach role for Wimbledon HC 1st team. Over the course of Ian’s first five seasons in charge, the team achieved two promotions before consolidating their position in South Premier League in 2019/20. This was the first time since the 2000/2001 season that the club had competed at this level.

When asked, Ian said, “Thank you to everyone that has made me feel so welcome and supported throughout my time at the club. I have thoroughly enjoyed coaching the men’s 1st team and feel lucky to have some great memories from the last six seasons including our two promotions, and seeing the improvement of so many of our talented young players.”

Ian and the whole of the Sloan family have been an incredible asset to the Wycombe Hockey Club Family and we are so grateful for all that they have done over the years – from all four of them coaching, umpiring for the club, offering advice and generally being great ambassadors for our club!

Good luck to Ian in his new role at Winbledon, from all at WHC!
